Given the political season and the chatter, it is tempting to draw the comparisons. Whatever your views might be of KR, one thing is certain and there are lots of lessons for wireless carriers (and industry at large) and that is “micro-targeting”. KR has mastered the art of microtargetting voters and designing specific messages to persuade them to give money and/or vote.
Still with me?
Current targeting in the wireless industry is too broad, huge buckets of users. If the carriers are to succeed in this saturating market, strategies need to be developed to focus on subscribers on a micro level, then design messages, offers, and communication to persuade them to buy content, services, and subscriptions — essentially loyalty.
