I was visiting with a friend last night discussing various topics and he mentioned that a mutual acquaintance of ours had installed Slingbox in India to watch India TV broadcast in the US. Ingenious! (of course there are bandwidth performance issues, but you get the point)

Yeah, the place-shifting experience is very cool.
A friend of mine has Slingbox in homes in Sunnyvale and Seoul. While flying to Seoul on a Boeing aircraft this year, he watched the NBA finals on his laptop via Boeing’s wifi service 35,000 feet above the Pacific.
Obviously, other passengers were blown away.
Hey !!!
CAn u tell me where ur friend bought slingbox from Us or UK???
Regards,
Manu
i tried installing it in my home in Mumbai (Slingbox) didn’t quite work. Can you provide some details on which version of slingbox he used and how it got it set up? The slingbox client s/w has options for japan/US/Mexico… not sure what to choose for india. almot all channels are in b/w and there was no sound either.
